HISTORY WITH THE HOYAS
DEFENSE IS TRAVELING
In BIG EAST play, Marquette has put its defense on display on the road. In six games, the Golden Eagles have held four opponents to 60 points or less on their home courts.
START ON THE FRONT FOOT
While some teams can start slow and pick up steam in games, Marquette has struggled a bit in doing that. Seven times this season, the Golden Eagles opponents' haven't scored first. MU is 1-6 in those games compared to 13-1 when scoring first.
HIT YOUR 3, DEFEND THE 3
While Marquette ranks as one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the country at 38.2%, it ranks 78th in 3-point defense at 28.4%. The Golden Eagles' 9.8% difference ranks as the 11th-largest difference in the NCAA and is 1% from third.
SHARING THE ROCK
Shooting north of 45% from the field this year has been due in part because of Marquette's unselfish nature, looking not just for a good shot but for the best shot. In 16 of MU's 21 games, six different Golden Eagles have recorded an assist. On six occasions, eight or more have been credited with an assist.
KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL
With length and high IQs on an experienced squad, Marquette has made a habit of getting their hands on opponents' shots this year. MU ranks No. 24 nationally this season with 5.0 per game.
A WALKING DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Recording her eighth double-double of the season on Jan. 28, Halle Vice continues to lead the BIG EAST in the category. The junior had just one double-double through the first five weeks of the season but has recorded six during an eight-game stretch from Dec. 14-Jan. 14. Working through an injury, Vice recorded No. 8 on Jan. 28.
DOING A BIT OF EVERYTHING
When you think of a glue-type player, Lee Volker has been just that for Marquette. The Swiss Army knife. The fifth-year player has been doing a little bit of everything for the Golden Eagles. Volker is second on the team in assists, rebounds and steals, and third in scoring and blocks. She leads the team in free-throw percentage and has the second-highest 3-point percentage among players with at least 20 attempts in each.
Tipoff from McDonough Arena is set for 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT. JB Long (play-by-play), Christy Winters-Scott (analyst) and Autumn Johnson (sideline) will be on the call for truTV/HBO Max.

Though everyone returned, the Golden Eagles have had just two games this season (Winthrop, Georgetown) with everyone available (excluding J.J. Barnes and Aryelle Stevens who were ruled out for the year heading into the season).
