The Golden Eagles scored the first four points and built a 6-1 lead behind three early kills from Tani Juric, while a Carson Tyler service ace helped spark the opening run. Marquette continued to pull away with an 8-0 stretch that turned a 9-4 edge into a commanding 17-9 lead, highlighted by kills from Tyler, Molly Welge and Emma Parks and an ace from Welge. The Golden Eagles hit efficiently throughout the frame, receiving six assists from Luanna Markus during the opening surge, and closed the set on a 7-2 run. After the teams traded points early and Seton Hall pulled within 10-8, the Golden Eagles scored five straight points to stretch the lead to 15-8. Tani Juric fueled the rally with three kills, while a block by Juric and Julia Stanev helped shift momentum. Marquette continued to build its advantage behind strong play at the net, recording three blocks during a 10-3 stretch that made it 20-11. Emi Juric then effectively put the set away with back-to-back service aces, extending the lead to 21-11. Carson Tyler collected key kills down the stretch and delivered the set-clinching point as Marquette closed out the 25-17 win and moved within one set of the sweep.
Tani Juric sparked a Golden Eagle comeback with a pair of kills during a 4-0 run that turned a 9-9 tie into a 13-9 advantage, while Emma Parks added three kills during the stretch. The Pirates answered with a late rally, using consecutive points to erase a five-point deficit and tie the set at 21-21. Marquette responded immediately as Carson Tyler delivered a kill to regain the lead before Keira Schmidt followed with a put away to make it 23-21.
