Marquette Facing Xavier For 91st Time
Marquette and Xavier will meet for the 91st time on Saturday afternoon, continuing a series that spans nearly half of the program's 109-year history.
The Golden Eagles own a 62-28 lead in matchups that date back to the 1958-59 campaign. MU dominated the outings during the Al McGuire and Hank Raymonds era, at one point claiming 26-straight victories between 1969 and 1983.
The Golden Eagles picked up their first BIG EAST victory of the 2025-26 campaign in the first meeting, hanging on for a 66-65 decision over the Musketeers on Jan. 7, 2026 at Fiserv Forum. Forward Royce Parham led four players in double figures with 14 points and added eight boards.
Stevens Has Career Night, Again
One game after setting a new personal best with 18 points, freshman guard Adrien Stevens was back at it again at Villanova on Tuesday night.
Stevens scored double figures in back-to-back games for the first time this season, matching his campaign-best 18-point effort collected against Butler on Feb. 7. In the last two outings, the Potomac, Md., native has combined to shoot 11-of-22 from the floor overall and 10-of-19 (52.6 percent) from behind the 3-point line. In an average of 35.7 minutes per outing, he also chipped in 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Stevens knocked down a career-best six treys against the Bulldogs and has reached double figures in three of the past four outings after netting 10-or-more points on just one occasion (15 points at Wisconsin, Dec. 6) in the team's first 21 contests.
Parham Continues Surge With Double-Double
Sophomore forward Royce Parham made his first-career start in the league opener and has now reached double figures in scoring in 11-of-14 BIG EAST outings.
Parham finished with a career night at Villanova, posting his first double-double (first of 2025-26 for team) with a 26-point, 11-rebound effort in 37 minutes of action. He concluded the night 8-of-9 from the floor, collected career highs in points and rebounds and also posted a personal-best 8-of-9 effort (entered game shooting 60.0 percent for the year) from the charity stripe.
A starter in each conference game, he is second on the team with 14.1 points per contest (16th in league through games of Feb. 11) and is shooting 56.1 percent (74-of-132) from the floor (3rd in BIG EAST) while contributing 4.5 boards per contest.
In the last seven outings, Parham contributed 17.1 points per game while shooting 64.9 percent (48-of-74) from the floor overall and in all BIG EAST outings from inside the 3-point line, Parham is converting on 59-of-89 (66.3 percent) of his shots from the field.
