Spring semester results highlight strong team GPAs and continued academic excellence.
Excellence in the classroom remained the foundation of Marquette Athletics during the Spring 2026 semester, as student-athletes delivered another strong academic showing across the department. The Spring term saw 263 student-athletes earn a place on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, recognizing those who posted a 3.0 GPA-or-higher. Among that group, 39 student-athletes finished the semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA, showcasing elite performance in competition and the classroom.
As a department, student-athletes combined for a 3.40 average GPA, continuing a trend of sustaining academic success. Team success was led by women's cross country, men's golf, and women's soccer, who tied for the highest team GPA of the spring at 3.6.
"The academic success of our student-athletes is a direct reflection of their commitment to being more than just athletes," said Dr. Adrienne Ridgeway. "They embrace the pursuit of excellence in all things, not only on the field or the court, but in the classroom as well."
The NCAA also released their annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) report, a metric used to track the academic eligibility, retention, and graduation of Division I student-athletes. Marquette had seven teams reach a perfect score of 1000, with all teams scoring an APR above 980 and just one team falling below the national average of 984. Team's that earned perfect APR scores include: men's and women's cross country, men's golf, women's basketball, women's tennis, women's track and field, and volleyball.
