MILWAUKEE – Marquette women's soccer head coach Chris Allen announced the addition of Gillian Holder as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season.
A Milwaukee native and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee graduate, Holder joins the Golden Eagles after serving as a fitness coach at Train Moment while also working as a personal trainer. She brings a background in athlete development, performance training and collegiate club playing experience to Allen's staff.
"We're incredibly excited to welcome Gillian to Marquette Women's Soccer," Allen stated. She is the kind of person every program hopes to have, selfless, driven, and deeply invested in the success of those around her. Our players will have an amazing mentor to learn from every day, and I know she'll make a lasting impact on our culture."
Since March 2024, Holder has served as a fitness coach at Train Moment, leading strength and conditioning sessions designed to improve athletic performance, movement quality and injury prevention. She has also worked as a self-employed personal trainer since January 2024, creating individualized training programs focused on strength, endurance and long-term athletic development.
Holder is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and is certified in American Red Cross AED/CPR. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes movement mechanics, accountability and creating a positive, team-oriented training environment.
Holder played club soccer at the Milwaukee from 2018-20 after a standout career at Pulaski High School in Pulaski, Wisconsin. A team captain and two-time second team all-conference selection, she helped lead the Red Raiders to WIAA sectional and regional championships and a third-place finish at the state tournament as a senior in 2018. Prior to college, Holder competed for Howard Hurricanes and USA Allouez Stride, developing through two of northeastern Wisconsin's premier youth soccer clubs.
Before transitioning into coaching full time, Holder spent more than two years as a project engineer at DJO Surgical in Austin, Texas, where she managed cross-functional projects in a regulated healthcare environment while ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA standards.
Holder earned her bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Milwaukee in 2022. In addition to her soccer background, she remains active in competitive fitness, regularly participating in HYROX competitions and distance running events.
