Golden Eagles recorded a season-high 14.5 blocks to end non-conference action in 2026.

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University volleyball team (5-5) wrapped non-conference action with a win over Milwaukee (5-6) in straight sets Sunday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette hit .363 as a team and was led offensively by Carson Tyler, who posted a match-best 12 kills while hitting .375 and added five blocks. Tani Juric finished with nine kills on a .533 hitting percentage and five blocks, while Molly Welge added eight kills on 12 swings with just one error to hit .583 and posted a team-best 10 blocks. Caydence Doolan chipped in seven kills while hitting .312. Luanna Markus directed the offense with 33 assists and added five digs and three blocks, while Emi Juric led the back row with 13 digs and added two of Marquette's seven service aces.

Marquette controlled the opening set from the outset, using a 7-0 run to turn a 3-2 advantage into a 10-2 lead. Carson Tyler powered the early attack with four kills during the opening stretch, while Annika Kowalski added a service ace. The Golden Eagles continued to pull away behind Caydence Doolan, who recorded four kills in the frame, and Tyler, who added two more late kills to push the advantage to 21-10. Aubrey Hicks put away the final point on her first collegiate kill as Marquette took the first set, 25-15.

Marquette dominated the second set from the start, responding to Milwaukee's opening point with a 9-0 run behind the serving of Emi Juric, who recorded two aces during the stretch. The Golden Eagles extended the lead to 18-3 as Helms and Tyler added aces and Marquette's block contributed four points. Milwaukee never pulled closer than 12 the rest of the way, and Marquette closed out the frame on a Panthers service error to take a 2-0 lead, 25-11.

Marquette steadily pulled away in the third set after the teams played to an early 3-3 tie. The Golden Eagles used a 4-0 run to grab a 7-3 advantage and extended the margin to 15-8 behind five kills from Tani Juric. Marquette's block took over late, contributing four points during a 6-0 run that pushed the lead to 21-10. Lauren Young added an ace and Aubrey Hicks followed with a kill to bring up set point before a Milwaukee service error completed the sweep, 25-13.

MU improves to 39-46-1 against Milwaukee all-time, and won their 16th straight against the Panthers
Marquette recorded a season-high 14.5 blocks, surpassing its previous high of 12 against No. 2 Texas. The Golden Eagles have now reached double figures in blocks in four consecutive matches.
The Golden Eagles hit.363 (42-9-91), their second-best hitting percentage of the season behind a .396 mark at Wright State. Marquette hit at least .300 in all three sets, including.435 in the second.
Marquette's 25-11 second-set victory marked its largest set victory of the season at 14 points. Its previous largest margin was nine points in 25-16 victories over Wright State and Illinois.
Marquette held Milwaukee to.065 hitting (25-19-93), the lowest opponent hitting percentage allowed by the Golden Eagles this season. The previous low was Illinois' .150 mark on Sept. 11.
Carson Tyler recorded 12 kills and continued her double-digit kill streak, recording the mark in all 10 matches this season and every match dating back to Oct. 28, 2025.
Aubrey Hicks made her Marquette debut, recording two kills
Emi Juric continued her double-digit digs streak, reaching the mark in her sixth-straight match and the ninth of 10 matches this season with 13 digs
- Juric also tied her career high with two service aces
Tani Juric finished with nine kills and just one error on 15 attacks for a career-best.533 hitting percentage on at least 10 attempts. She also posted a career-high five blocks, surpassing her previous best of three against St. Thomas.
Molly Welge matched her career-high with eight kills and set a new career-high with 10 blocks
- Welge recorded 6+ blocks for the fifth-straight match, and third-straight with more than seven
- Welge's 10 blocks are the most in a match since Carsen Murray had 10 vs. St. John's 11/24/2023
- Welge has now recorded at least three blocks in all 10 matches this season and has compiled 30 blocks over Marquette's last four matches, with six at Illinois, seven at Wisconsin, seven against St. Thomas and 10 against Milwaukee.
Lauren Young recorded her first service ace as a Golden Eagle and added two assists.
Caydence Doolan followed her career-high 17-kill performance against St. Thomas with seven kills on .312 hitting against Milwaukee. She has recorded 24 kills over the last two matches after entering the weekend with six kills on the season.
Luanna Markus dished out 33 assists, her eighth match this season with at least 30 assists, while directing an offense that committed only nine attack errors and hit .363.
