Cervantes Records Top-10 Finish at Windon Memorial

Junior finishes in the Top 10 for fourth straight tournament
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Led by a top-10 finish from junior Vincent Cervantes, the Marquette University men's golf team concluded play Tuesday at the Windon Memorial at Onwentsia Club.
Cervantes tied for eighth place individually at 2-under-par 208, carding rounds of 69-67-72. His second-round 67 helped him secure his fourth consecutive top-10 finish of the season.
Fellow Golden Eagle Mischa Candinas also turned in an impressive week, tying for 21st at 1-over-par 211 after posting rounds of 69, 72 and 70. Candinas and Cervantes combined to finish under or near par in five of six rounds during the event.
As a team, Marquette tied for 12th place with a 54-hole total of 853 (+13). The Golden Eagles recorded consecutive rounds of 285 and 283 on Monday before closing the tournament with a final-round 285.
Mason Schmidtke finished tied for 43rd at 5-over-par 215, while Ryan Banas used a final-round 71 to move into a tie for 68th at 221 (+11). Wyatt Chapman rounded out the lineup in a tie for 83rd at 227 (+17).
