Dr. Adrienne Ridgeway is in her 21st year overall with Marquette in 2025-26 and was promoted to Deputy Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Well-Being in May of 2025, serving as the department's lead internal administrator.
Ridgeway oversees academics, sports medicine, sports performance, and mental health and wellness initiatives for Marquette's student-athletes.
Ridgeway is responsible for providing the strategic vision for the academic and student programs staff, which works with the group of over 300 student-athletes. Additionally, she serves as the primary academic liaison to campus and works specifically with the men's basketball team and women's and men's tennis teams in advising and monitoring the academic progress of these student-athletes.
In addition to her academic responsibilities, Ridgeway serves at the sport administrator to the Marquette men’s and women’s cross country and track teams and women's lacrosse programs and is a past Chair of the NCAA Research Committee. Ridgeway was appointed the department's Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (AIDA) and serves as the channel for information related to national, conference, and campus level issues of diversity and inclusion and supports diverse and inclusive practices related to athletics.
Prior to Marquette, Ridgeway spent two years with the Milwaukee Public Schools as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Ridgeway ran track for four years at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and received her bachelor's of science in speech-language pathology and earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology while working as a graduate assistant to the athletics director in the Howard Athletics office.
Ridgeway also holds a Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from Marquette. She earned her doctorate in interdisciplinary leadership in February of 2023.
A native of Milwaukee, Ridgeway resides in Brown Deer with her husband, LeVar, and their daughter, Brooke.
