The 2022-23 campaign marks the second for Dayshawn Wells, who serves as video coordinator, with the Marquette University men’s basketball program.
Wells arrived in Milwaukee after most recently spending two seasons with the men’s basketball program at Radford. With the Highlanders, Wells oversaw video and technology, aided in player development through video study, managed video edits and highlights and assisted with maintaining a recruiting database.
Wells was an assistant coach for Team Thrill 16U, which is an Elite Basketball Program founded by Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton to create opportunities for youth. There he served as recruitment coordinator for players in the District, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) region. He also helped develop strategies and game plans, while building player relationships among themselves and the staff.
Prior to his time with the 16U team, Wells was an assistant for the Team Thrill 17U squad in 2018. He facilitated player development by implementing practice strategies. He designed, developed and executed game plan strategies, while also building player relationships by coordinating team building activities.
During his collegiate playing career (2015-18), Wells helped carry Bowie State to a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) title in 2017 and a CIAA Regular Season Championship in 2015. He became a team captain as a senior making 28 starts and averaging 29 minutes per game.
Wells graduated with a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism from Bowie State in 2018. He was also a member of the Junior Business Club and the Debate Society.
