The 2020-21 season marks the fourthΒ year for Emily Tyus in her role as Director of Operations with men's lacrosse and sixthΒ overall with Marquette Athletics. Tyus assists in the day-to-day operations of the team, including coordinating recruiting and travel plans.
βEmily will be an incredible asset to our staff moving forward,β Marquette head coach Andrew Stimmel said. βShe is diligent, thoughtful and cares deeply for our student-athletes, while possessing a drive to make our program better. Her extensive background in leadership will serve Marquette Lacrosse well as we continue to pursue excellence on and off the field.β
TyusΒ started with Marquette Athletics in 2016 while pursuing her master's in leadership with a specialization in sports leadership, which she completed in 2017.
Prior to her time at Marquette, TyusΒ worked for the NCAA as an eligibility analyst. She also earned a master's in teaching and teacher education from the University of Arizona in 2012, where she worked as an athletic trainer for the Wildcats' softball and football teams.
Tyus completed her undergraduate degree at Purdue in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training. She currently resides in Oak Creek with her husband, Jon, son, Beckham (born in 2018), daughter, Liv (born in 2020),Β andΒ dog,Β Balleu.
