Joi Jones begins her second season as Program Specialist for the women's basketball program in the 2020-21 campaign.
In her role, Jones assists Coach Duffy and staff with recruiting and scouting, helps with recruiting graphics and social media and assists with community service planning for the Golden Eagles. Jones will help plan unofficial and official visits and help with tracking practice statistics. She will also be responsible for helping with all camps and oversee the practice players and managers.
Prior to joining the Marquette staff, Jones spent two seasons as the graduate assistant for Belmont women's basketball, helping in a pair of NCAA Tournament runs for the Bruins.Â
Jones had a standout career at Appalachian State University (2013-17) where she served as the primary guard for the Mountaineers. Jones also recently completed the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) "So You Want to be a Coach" program where she broadened her understanding and application of skills necessary to becoming a women's basketball coach
Hailing from Duluth, Georgia, Jones was named to the Third Team All-Sun Belt roster after finishing her senior campaign 10th in scoring and 15th in assists in the conference. Jones became one of 24 members in Appalachian State program history to reach 1,000 points in her career. She received a B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in health promotion.
