Chaz Franklin completed his first season as director of player development at Marquette in 2024-25.
Franklin helped guide Marquette to a 21-win season in 2024-25. Marquette finished fourth in the BIG EAST after being picked 10th in the preseason coaches’ poll. The Golden Eagles made it to the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament.
Franklin comes to Milwaukee from the Chicago Sky where he was director of player development from 2023-24.

In the summer of 2024, Franklin was named part of the interim coaching staff for New Zealand’s national team the 2degrees Tall Ferns.
Franklin was an assistant at Millersville University in Pennsylvania and was a support staff member for USA Basketball. He also coached Team Brotherly Love,
Philadelphia’s team in The Basketball Tournament in the summer of 2021.
Franklin played professionally for 15 years around the globe including Germany, Iceland, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
A Philadelphia native, Franklin received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Roberts Wesleyan University in 2005.

The Golden Eagles were consistently top 50 in the nation in field goal percentage defense (38.1 percent) and held opponents to under 45-percent shooting from the field in 28-of-32 games.
Marquette led the BIG EAST in rebounding all season at 37.5 rebounds per game and a +4.8 rebound margin. The Golden Eagles outrebounded their opponent in 20-of-32 games.
Marquette finished third in the BIG EAST in scoring offense (67.1 points per game) and scoring margin (+7.8). Sophomore forward Skylar Forbes earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors while senior guard Lee Volker was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
