Lili Berg will be entering her first year as an assistant coach with the women's soccer program in 2026.
Prior to joining Marquette, Berg served as a goalkeeper coach for Bavarians United Milwaukee, where she led training sessions for youth goalkeepers and assisted with MLS NEXT players at the U15-U18 levels. Berg also spent time coaching internationally, working as a volunteer goalkeeper coach for Fram F.C. in Iceland and holding coaching roles in Australia with Kick Academy and Premier Football Tuition, where she focused on technical training and player development for youth athletes ages 5-12.
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Berg, a native of New Berlin, Wisconsin, enjoyed a professional playing career that included stops with Fram F.C. of Iceland's Lengjudeildin (2024) and Geelong Galaxy FC of the Victorian Women's Premier League (2025). During her time with Geelong Galaxy, Berg was named VPLW Goalkeeper of the Year and earned the club's Players' Player and Best and Fairest honors following the 2025 campaign. As a youth player, Berg twice trained with Chelsea FC Women's academy, working with the club's U16 side and first-team squad during summer stints in 2015 and 2016.
A two-time All-MAC Second Team selection during her time at Bowling Green State University, Berg helped lead the Falcons to Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament championships in 2020 and 2021, along with NCAA Championship appearances in both seasons. She appeared in more than 50 matches across her collegiate career, recording over 20 shutouts and serving as team captain in 2022. Berg was also a four-time Academic All-MAC honoree and was tabbed to the Academic All-District Team in 2022. Berg began her collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Bowling Green.
Berg holds a master's degree in kinesiology and sport administration from Bowling Green State University, completed in December 2023, along with coaching certifications through the Scottish FA and U.S. Soccer. She is continuing her development through United Soccer Coaches' Goalkeeping Level 1 licensure.
