The 2026-27 campaign will mark the first for Katie Walsh as an assistant athletic trainer at Marquette University.
Walsh will focus on the women’s soccer and women’s tennis teams, while also assisting in the day-to-day operations of the department.
The Grayslake, Illinois, native returns to Milwaukee after serving as an assistant athletic trainer with the Boston Legacy FC of the National Women’s Soccer League in 2026.
Prior to her stop in the professional ranks, Walsh spent seven seasons (2019-26) as an assistant athletic trainer at Milwaukee, working with the women’s soccer and men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. In addition to her role as an athletic trainer, she also served as a preceptor and ad-hoc lecturer for Milwaukee's Master of Science in Athletic Training Program.
Walsh spent two years at Virginia Tech (2017-19) as a graduate assistant with the women’s soccer and softball programs and earned a master's degree in education.
She is a certified instructor through the American Red Cross and has completed the Master Dry Needling DN-1 course. Walsh served as the inaugural District 11 Representative for the NATA Early Professionals' Committee (2022-25).
Walsh attended Marquette, graduating with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2017.
