Zach Champagne is in his first season on the Marquette Volleyball staff as Technical Coordinator/Performance Analyst in 2026.
In his role with the Golden Eagles, Champagne oversees performance data collection and analysis while supporting coaches in areas including athlete workload management, performance monitoring and on-court evaluation. His work focuses on helping optimize player development and team performance through evidence-based decision-making and advanced analytics.
Prior to joining the volleyball staff, Champagne served as a sports performance assistant with Marquette Athletics, where he worked with Catapult, VALD, DXA and BioDex technologies while assisting coaches with reporting, athlete monitoring and applied performance analysis. He also gained professional sports experience as a sports science intern with the Milwaukee Admirals, helping collect and evaluate athlete performance data during training sessions and competitions.
A graduate of the University of St. Thomas, Champagne earned a bachelor's degree in data analytics with minors in statistics, political science and biblical studies. He recently graduated with a master's degree in sports and exercise analytics from Marquette and holds a graduate certificate in data science.
Champagne's volleyball background includes serving as president of the St. Thomas men's club volleyball program from 2023-24 and working as a player assistant with the university's women's volleyball program from 2020-24. He has also coached with Northern Lights Volleyball and currently serves as an assistant coach at Revolution Volleyball Academy.
As a student-athlete, Champagne competed as a middle blocker for the St. Thomas men's club volleyball team and helped lead the program to NCVF Division II national semifinal appearances in 2022 and 2024.
A native of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Champagne remains active in community service through youth STEM initiatives and food bank volunteer work.
