UP NEXT The Marquette women?s tennis team has a break in their schedule and will be off for the next two weeks. The Golden Eagles will begin conference play when they host DePaul on Jan. 21 at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium at 10 a.m. (CT).
LAST WEEK The Golden Eagles made some history for their program, when senior Elisa Penalvo (Godella, Valencia, Spain/JuanXX III) became the first Marquette women?s tennis player to reach the finals of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Penalvo was defeated by Arkansas junior All-American Chin Bee Khoo 6-3, 6-1 on Sat., Jan.8 at the Milwaukee Auditorium. En route to the finals, Penalvo defeated Arkansas Razorback Amy Ho 6-2, 6-7 (3), 6-4 and Cincinnati?s Kara Maloney 6-2, 6-2.
