Marquette Volleyball Team Drops Match To DePaul

The Marquette University volleyball team dropped its Conference USA opener on Tuesday evening, losing a three-game decision to DePaul (13-15, 8-15, 13-15). The match was played at DU's Athletic Center. The loss leaves Marquette's record at 1-11 overall (0-1 C-USA) while DePaul raises its mark to 10-3 overall (1-0 C-USA).
Marquette finished the match with a 19.5 attack percentage while the Blue Demons registered a mark of 25.6 percent. DePaul finished with 55 digs vs. MU's 50 and the hosts finished with a slim 6-5 edge in total blocks.
Leading the way for Marquette was freshman Ann Lopata (Glen Elly, Ill.) who totaled a team-high 13 kills. Junior Mehgan Devine (Harris, Minn.) came up with nine kills along with a team-best 14 digs.
