Milwaukee - The Marquette University women's tennis team swings into its fall season this weekend (September 29-30) at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
The Golden Eagles will look to gain some experience at this tournament. This year's roster consists of six freshmen, three sophomores and only one senior. "This should be great for our freshman class," said head coach Jody Bronson, now in her 15th year at Marquette. "We are a young and talented group and need to get as much experience as we can. It will be a good learning experience." The Golden Eagles will be competing against some outstanding programs. Notre Dame finished the season last year ranked number 13 in the country and Northwestern, also competing this weekend, finished the season ranked 15th. Also competing are 23rd ranked Ohio State, Kansas, Illinois, and Western Michigan. De Paul, Marquette's Conference USA rival, will also be among the competition.
The tournament is flighted so there will be no team scoring.
