Golden Eagles Show Heart In Victory Over Western Michigan

Coming from behind in two singles matches, the Golden Eagles snapped their three match losing streak with a 5-7 victory over Western Michigan. The win puts Marquette at 3-5 on the season.
Anna Pavlovic dropped her first set 3-6, but came back strong to win the next two in convincing fashion.
Eva Trujillo-Herrera dropped her first set as well and also came back to win the next two. Trujillo-Herrera's record now stands at 4-4 on the season.
Senior Laura Garcia, ranked 49th in the country, improved her record to 7-4 on the season with a tough 7-5, 7-6 victory over Larissa Chinwah.
Freshman Anabelle Espinosa received her first win of the season at No. 4 singles. She defeated Nikki Douglass 6-4, 6-3.
The Golden Eagles open their Conference USA season with a home match against Houston on Friday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m.
