Illinois Defeats Marquette 6-1

The Golden Eagles women's tennis team, still not at full strength due to injuries, lost a 6-1 decision to Illinois on Saturday.
Senior Laura Garcia, who has been hampered by a sore back, played in the No. 1 doubles match, but sat out the singles competition for the second consecutive match. Garcia and freshman Genevieve Charron lost a close 9-7 match.
Charron again played No. 1 singles and dropped a 7-5, 6-2 match to Illinois' Jenny McGaffigan.
Sophomore Anna Pavlovic scored a victory at No. 3 singles with at 7-5, 7-5 victory.
The Golden Eagles will be in action again on Saturday, April 7 with a home match against Conference-USA rival DePaul. Action begins at noon.
