Kawas Wins Flight in MU Invitation

GREENDALE, Wis. -- Freshman Ian Kawas went 3-0 in his first tournament at Marquette, winning flight the flight five singles event. He defeted Barry Hankel of Wis.-Green Bay 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 in the final.
Freshman Ricky Servoss advanced to the finals of the flight four singles event. He lost to Ben Davis of Wis.-Green Bay, 4-6, 2-6. He was 2-1 during the tournament.
Eigintas Vedreckas was 1-2 during the tournament, losing in the consolation final of the flight one singles. Junior Creighton Macy went 1-2 as well, also losing in the consolation final in bracket two. Sophomore Matt Mueller lost both of his matches in the flight three draw. In the flight six singles, freshman Robert Ojeda was 2-1 advancing to the semifinals.
In doubles, Kawas and Vendreckas lost to Pluta and Weber of Eastern Illinois in the first round. MU's doubles tandem of Macy and Mueller adavnced to the flight two doubles semis.
