Women's Tennis Travels to Wolverine Invitational

Milwaukee- The Marquette women's tennis team traveled to Ann Arbor, Mich., this weekend to compete in the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan. Several Golden Eagles are still alive in the consolation bracket, including Genevieve Charron, Veronica Garcia Briseno and Francina Bonnelly.
After dropping her first match in the "Blue" singles bracket against the no. 4 seed Reedhina Parekh of Western Michigan, 6-0, 6-4, Charron went on to defeat Cincinnati's Lyndsey Molony, 6-0, 6-3. Charron will face Shelley Brady of Michigan State Sunday in the consolation semifinals.
Garcia Briseno also lost her first match, falling 6-3, 6-4 against the no. 3 seed Caroline Lay of Michigan State. Garcia Briseno then beat Christina Reyes of Cincinnati, 4-6, 6-4, 11-9. She will play Rattiya Hiranrat of Western Michigan Sunday in the other semifinal match.
Bonnelly advances to the "Maize" singles consolation semifinal after defeating Cincinnati's Hannah Hinton, 4-6, 6-3, (12-10).
