Women's Tennis Takes Match Against Saint Louis, 6-1

Milwaukee-The Marquette women's tennis team won its second match of the season today, 6-1, against Saint Louis University. The match was played in Orlando, Fla. The Golden Eagles have recorded a 2-11 record so far on the season.
Veronica Garcia Briseno adds to her impressive record with her No. 4 singles win against Erin Kersten. Her 6-0,6-3 victory puts her at 20-8. She holds the best record on the team.
Michelle Mojzis fell, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 1 singles match to Melissa Lemus. Mojzis' record falls to 4-11.
Eva Trujillo Herrera claimed the No. 2 singles win in a tie-breaker, 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 over Amy O'Handley. Trujillo Herrera moves to 6-15.
Annabelle Espinosa's record improves to 2-10 as she beat Melissa Cutler, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3 singles match.
In the No. 5 singles match, Anna Pavlovic defeated Kristen Doyle, 6-0,6-1. Pavlovic's record is 12-12.
Genevive Charron claimed her first win on the season as she took the No. 6 singles match, 6-3, 6-1, over Rebecca Steer.
Marquette took the doubles point as two of the three pairs marked a win. The No. 1 duo of Pavlovic/Mojzis fell, 8-5, to Lemus and Vicki Zielinski. Garcia Briseno/Espinosa recorded a 8-0 win over O'Handley/Kersten in No. 2 doubles. Alexandra Stankovic/Trujillo Herrera came out on top of Cutler/Steer, 8-1, in the No. 3 doubles match.
The Golden Eagles play again tomorrow, March. 12, against South Florida.
