Women's Tennis Progresses in Second Day of Tournament

Milwaukee-The second day of competition at Western Michigan's Bronco Invitational saw Marquette's Veronica Garcia Briseno win the consolation bracket's semi-final match to advance to the flight "A" singles consolation match.
Garcia Briseno first beat Katie Owens of Ball State in the quarter-final match, 6-2, 6-1, to advance to the semi-final match against Shelley Brady of Michigan State. Garcia Briseno took Brady in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. She will face Caroline Law of Michigan State in tomorrow's consolation final match.
Dominika Dabrowski advanced to the flight "C" singles semi-final match by defeating Sarah Andrews of Michigan State, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (8) in the quarter-final match. Dabrowski then dropped the semi-final match, 6-2, 6-1, against Illinois' Leila Cehajic.
Genevieve Charron won her consolation bracket quarter-final flight "B" singles match verses Cecile Perton of Indiana, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (9). Charron did not play in the consolation semi-final against Jenny Batty of Ball State.
In doubles play the tandem of Trujillo-Herrera and Bonnelly won their flight "A" doubles consolation bracket quarter-final match verses Ball State's Weiman/Thompson 8-2 and then fell to Knue/Wang of Illinois 8-5.
Play continues tomorrow in the final round of the tournament.
