ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Callan Smith improved her singles record to 6-1 on the season as she won all four of her matches at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Smith defeated Bowling Green's Andrea Meister in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, to claim the final match of the "Wolverine" Flight in the three flight tournament.
After an opening round loss, Elsemieke Dokter rebounded to win the consolation round of the same draw. She defeated Jenna Nussbaum, also of Bowling Green, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0.
In other singles action, Erin Watkins defeated Christine Bader as part of the "Blue" Singles back draw, 7-5, 7-5. Sophomore Katie Donovan lost to Xavier's Alicia Papa in back draw "Wolverine" flight action, 6-0, 6-2
The Marquette women's tennis team returns to action on Oct. 15 in the Wolfpack Fall Invitational in Raleigh, N.C.
