Garcia Briseno Named to All-Conference USA Third Team

Women's Tennis co-captain Veronica Garcia Briseno was named to the All-Conference USA Third Team, Tuesday. The honor follows the senior's most challenging season as a Golden Eagle.
Marquette?s No. 1 player in both singles and doubles, Garcia Briseno fought to a 7-16 record against top competition. Of her 16 singles losses, 12 came against opponents ranked in the top 100. She went 4-2 against C-USA opponents in singles, including 3-0 during the regular season.
On the doubles side, Garcia Briseno went 5-14, all at the No. 1 position, although with three different partners. She went 3-2 against C-USA opponents in doubles, including 2-0 in the regular season.
Garcia Briseno wrapped up her Marquette career with a slate of 64-59 in singles, and 54-62 in doubles.
One of four seniors on the Marquette team, Garcia Briseno's selection means that every senior this year has received All-Conference recognition during her time at MU. Eva Trujillo Herrera earned Second Team honors in 2002 and 2003. Genevieve Charron was named Second Team in 2002, following a Third Team selection in 2001. Annabelle Espinosa took home Third Team honors in 2002.
