Golfers Finish 13th at Marshall Invitational

Junior Joe Weber leads team with 28th place finish

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- In the last event before the Conference USA Championship, Marquette finished 13th at the Marshall Invitational. Junior Joe Weber led the team with a 28th place finish.

The Golden Eagles shot a 295 in the final round, finishing at 40-over, 892. Marquette was in 12th place after three rounds. Louisville won the tournament, shooting 837 for the 54 holes.

Akron's Blake Sattler won the tournament at 202 (11-under). He was 17 strokes better than MU's top finisher. Weber shot a final round 71 (even par) to finish at six-over, 219.

Freshman Ted Gray finished in 35th place, shooting a 222. Sophomore Michael Bielawski was in 44th place, shooting an 11-over 224. Junior Kyle Murphy placed 61st, with a 15-over, 228. Junior Steve Sass placed 72nd, shooting 233.

The Golden Eagles finish the season on April 18-19 at the Conference USA Championships in Gulf Shores, Miss.
