Golfers Improve to 10th at Pinehurst

PINEHURST, N.C. -- Marquette sophomore Mike Van Sickle shot a team-best 71 in the second round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate to move up to a tie for ninth place. Through 36 holes, he is at two-over, 146.
Van Sickle trails tournament leader Jorge Campillo of Indiana by six strokes. Campillo led a resurgence by the Hoosiers to moved past SMU into first place at 14-over, 590. Indiana is tied at the top with Michigan. SMU is two shots off the pace. Marquette is in 10th at 28-over, 298.
Junior Ted Gray shot a 76 for the second day to sit at 8-over, 152. He is in 34th place. Junior Mike Bielawski is in 41st place at nine-over, 153. Sophomore Dustin Schwab is in 61st place at 12-over, 156. Freshman Ben Sieg is in a tie for 90th lace at 20-over, 164.
Final round play concludes in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Tuesday, March 20.
