SKOKIE, Ill. -- The Marquette University men's golf team wrapped up play Monday at the Windon Memorial Classic at Evanston Golf Club. Sophomore Michael Motz led the Golden Eagles with a three-round total of 3-over-par 217.
Play was suspended Sunday evening due to darkness, so players completed their second rounds Monday morning. Motz went on to card a 72, following up a first-round 71, before closing with final-round 74.
It's the second straight week that Motz has been MU's top golfer after last weekend's runner-up finish at DePaul.
Senior Matt Haase duplicated Motz's first and second round scores and had a solid third round going before finishing with back-to-back double bogeys to card a 75 and finish at 218 for the tournament.
With a team score of 302 in the final round, MU dropped a couple of spots to place 12th overall. Arkansas took home the team championship.
Marquette will have next weekend off before heading to Stockton, Calif., Oct. 31-Nov. 2, for the Golden Eagles' final tournament of the fall season.
