DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- The Marquette University men's golf team is tied for 12th place at the FAU Spring Break Championship following a second-round 296 Saturday at Gleneagles Country Club.
Led by senior Ben Sieg who posted a 1-over-par 73, the Golden Eagles shaved 12 strokes off of their opening round score, and sit tied with Murray State at 602 for the tournament -- ahead of Connecticut, USF, Eastern Michigan and Wisconsin, and one stroke behind Northwestern in the overall team standings.
Senior Kelly Kretz remains the team's low individual tied for 29th at 3-over 147 (73-74), followed by freshman Michael Motz at 148 (73-75).
Ohio State leads the 17-team field going into Sunday's final round of play. OSU (559) boasts a 16-stroke advantage over DePaul (575) with 18 holes remaining. Third round tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
