SIMSPONVILLE, Ky. - Corey Konieczki posted his best collegiate finish with a two-round total of 144 at the Cardinal Intercollegiate. The Marquette University sophomore hit 33 of 36 fairways at the Cardinal Club and tied for 10th place overall following a final-round 74 Tuesday.
MU (603) placed 14th out of 18 teams, six strokes away from a top-10 finish at the weather-shortened event. Round one was delayed until noon Monday, and as a result, Tuesday's third round was cancelled.
Fellow sophomore Michael Motz also shot a second-round 74, shaving three strokes off his opening-round and tied for 41st place at 151 for the tournament, along with Golden Eagles freshman CJ Swift (73-78).
University of Arkansas-Little Rock captured the team championship with a 573 (283-290) led by individual medalist Nicklaus Benton (137).
