Men's Golf Team Finishes Eighth at BIG EAST Tournament

REUNION, Fla. - Matt Haase finished out his collegiate career with a one over-par 73 at Tom Watson Golf Course to lead the Marquette Univerisity men's golf team to an eighth place finish Tuesday in the final round of the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship at Reunion Resort.
Haase, who shot a 73 on day one and a 79 Monday, finished tied for 31st along with fellow MU top finisher Michael Motz, who shot 74 in the final two rounds.
C.J. Swift, competing in his first BIG EAST Tournament as a freshman, finished in a tie for 45th with teammate Ryan Prickette. Swift posted a tournament low round of 76 on Sunday and Monday, while Prickette shot 73 on Monday.
Corey Konieczki finished in a tie for 38th place after a team low 72 in the second round Monday.
Marquette finished with 898 total strokes. Notre Dame won the event with a team total of 852 strokes, beating out second place Louisville by a wide, 16 stroke margin.
