
Swift Paces Marquette Sunday at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. -- The Marquette University men's golf team is in eighth place following a first-round team score of 3-over-par 291 on the opening day of the Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course.
MU was led by redshirt sophomore CJ Swift (T8), who is 1-under after carding a 71 Sunday. Freshman Henry Klongland (T18) was one stroke back at even-par.
South Carolina has a four-streak lead at 6-under 282, paced by Caleb Sturgeon, who tied a men's collegiate course record Sunday with an opening-round 65.
The Badger Invitational continues Monday, Sept. 30 and will conclude Tuesday, Oct. 1 with 18 holes daily. Second round tee times begin Monday at 9 a.m. Central time.
