
Marquette Earns 5-2 Victory at IPFW

FORT WAYNE, Ind.--The Marquette women's tennis team (6-3) concluded a two-match weekend road trip with a 5-2 victory at IPFW on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles dropped the double point again to open, the match, but bounced back to win five of six singles matches en route to victory.
Twin sisters Laia Hernandez Soler and Aina Hernandez Soler teamed up at No. 2 doubles and defeated Miloslava Shustove and Emily Richardson, 8-4.
At No. 2 singles Ali Dawson bested Ella Norgen, 6-2, 6-1, while sophomore Erin Gebes defeated Sofia Sorokina, 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 3 position. Vanessa Foltinger claimed a 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles, while L. Hernandez and A. Hernandez also won on their courts.
The Golden Eagles will have a one week break and return to action Saturday, March 8 when they host Minnesota at 10 a.m. Central time at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
