MILWAUKEE -- Forty-eight student-athletes took part in Marquette University's 2015 commencement on Sunday, May 16 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center and college ceremonies around Milwaukee.
The weekend began Friday evening for Marquette's graduating student-athletes at the Al McGuire Center as the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics hosted a reception for graduates and their families.
In total, 63 percent (182-of-302) of all student-athletes, not just those graduating, have maintained a cumulative grade point average above a 3.0 during their MU careers.ÂÂ
Seventeen individuals recorded perfect 4.0 grade point averages during the spring semester, while 16 did so during the fall. Of those student-athletes, six recorded straight A's for the entire year, including Erin Gebes (women's tennis), Kyle Gress (men's soccer), Kyra Gudex (women's cross country/track and field), Maggie Edlebeck (women's soccer), Tatyana Pashibin (women's track and field) and Zach Wehner (men's cross country/track and field). ÂÂ
Women's tennis and women's cross country both recorded GPAs above 3.6 in each semester of the 2014-15 academic year.
