Adrienne Ridgeway Promoted to Associate AD

Marquette University Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Scholl has announced promotion of Adrienne Ridgeway to Associate Athletic Director for Academic Support & Student Programs.
Ridgeway, who is completing her 12th year with the University, was promoted to her current position of Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services and Life Skills in 2008. She is replacing Tom Ford, who is retiring this summer after working for 25 years in the athletics department at Marquette.
"Adrienne's value to the department is difficult to measure and she is a perfect example of why I believe we have a tremendous staff here at Marquette," Scholl said. "I have been extremely impressed by her work ethic and professionalism since I arrived on campus. We have a built a tremendous academic support system here at Marquette, and we believe Adrienne and our staff will take it to even a higher level"
Ridgeway will supervise the day-to-day operations of the academic support area while remaining the primary liaison with the men's basketball program.
Prior to Marquette, Ridgeway spent two years with the Milwaukee Public Schools as a speech-language pathologist, where she provided language and articulation treatment and evaluation to elementary school students.
Ridgeway ran track for four years at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and received her bachelor of science in speech-language pathology in 2001. Her minor was sports administration. In 2003, she earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology while working as a graduate assistant to the athletics director in the Howard Athletics office.
Ridgeway also holds a Master of Education in College Student Personnel Administration from Marquette.
A native of Milwaukee, she attended Nicolet High School in Glendale and currently resides in Brown Deer with her husband, LeVar, and their daughter, Brooke.
