Marquette junior Pat Sanchez was named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division I PING All-Midwest Region Team, adding another accolade to a season full of accomplishments.
Sanchez, who was named the 2015 BIG EAST player of the year and was the league's co-champion at the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championships in April, is the first Marquette player to earn all-region honors since Mike Van Sickle was named to three straight all-region teams from 2007-09. Sanchez also became the first player since Van Sickle to earn all-BIG EAST honors three times when he was named all-conference last month.
In 2014-15, Sanchez was Marquette's leading scorer and ranked fourth in the BIG EAST at 73.61 strokes/round.
Players across six regions were recognized by the GCAA. The complete list of winners is at collegiategolf.com.
