SKOKIE, Ill. - Oliver Farrell made a 15 spot jump to a tie for 10th place with a final round 67 to finish the tournament with an even par 210, while No. 22 Marquette finished tied for fifth with an 8-over-par 848 at the Windon Memorial Classic, hosted by Northwestern.
MU shot an even par 280 in the finale on Monday - it was the second par or better round for the Golden Eagles (276-292-280- 848) in the event, including a 4-under-par first round.
Farrell's 3-under-par final round was his second sub-70 round of the tournament (69-74-67-210) and helped MU jump two spots up the leaderboard, after starting the third round in seventh place. Farrell notched 10 birdies over 54 holes on the Par 70, 6,793-yard course to finish four strokes off the 4-under-par pace set by co-medalists Patrick Flavin of Miami (Ohio) and Brendon Doyle of Indiana.
He led three MU players with top-20 finishes - Matt Murlick (68-73-70-211) finished tied for 13th at 1-over-par, while Hunter Eichhorn (68-73-71-212) was tied for 17th at 2-over-par.
Penn State and Northwestern tied for the win with 5-under-par 835s. Eighty-four players were in the Windon Memorial field.
Marquette gets a weekend off before traveling to the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational in El Paso, Texas, Oct. 20-22.
