
Marquette Drops a 5-2 Decision to Iowa

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's tennis team dropped a tough 5-2 decision to Iowa on Saturday evening at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles (4-2) dropped the doubles point to open the match, though the No. 2 tandem of Courtney Hebard and Fleur Eggink won their match with an easy 6-1 score.
Paula Tormos Sanchez gave MU its first point of the match as she prevailed to a 6-0, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles, while Silvia Ambrosio followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 1 position before Iowa claimed the remaining singles matches.
The Golden Eagles continue a season-long seven-match homestand on Friday, Feb. 17 when the squad hosts BIG EAST foe St John's at 2 p.m. Central time.
