
Cole Blazer picked by Chesapeake in MLL Supplemental Draft

Blazer joins numerous recent MU graduates in the pro lacrosse ranks
MILWAUKEE – Former Marquette University goalie Cole Blazer was selected by the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Wednesday, Oct. 24 in a Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft.
Blazer was a three-time BIG EAST Championship Team honoree and helped the Golden Eagles to a pair of NCAA Championship appearances in 2016 and 2017. The Libertyville, Illinois native graduated in May with a 3.35 grade point average as a mechanical engineering major and was a USILA Scholar All-American and three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection.
He left Marquette as its all-time leader with 360 career saves and was twice selected to the All-BIG EAST Second Team while helping the Golden Eagle to BIG EAST Tournament championships as a sophomore and junior.
Blazer served as the president of the Marquette Engineering Student Council, beginning in 2016, and was part of Marquette's Scholarly Ambassador and Mentorship programs during his career. He also was a member of the Wisconsin Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honors Society.
He joins former teammates Liam Byrnes, Ryan McNamara, Conor Gately and Zachary Melillo on MLL rosters. Gately, Andy DeMichiei and Jordan Greenfield were all supplemental draft picks, while Melillo was signed from the undrafted player pool by Denver during the summer.
