Davenport and King led MU in double figures
MIAMI--The No. 19 Marquette women's basketball team fell to No. 24 Miami, 63-55 in the semifinals of the Preseason WNIT on Thursday evening at the Watsco Center.

Erika Davenport led the Golden Eagles (3-1) with 15 points and seven boards, while Danielle King record 10 points.
Â
Marquette trailed by as many as 16 points with 5:10 left in the third quarter but a swift offensive explosion, including a 6-0 run in the fourth cut Miami's lead to just one point, 56-55, forcing the Hurricanes to call timeout with 4:51 left in the game.

Despite a flurry of chances to pull ahead, the Golden Eagles went scoreless for the rest of the game.

MU shot just 28.6 percent (20-70) from the field in the game but forced the Hurricanes (4-0) to commit 19 turnovers, while giving the ball up just nine times themselves.

Miami was led by Beatrice Mompremier with double-double posting 24 points and taking down 21 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles will be off until Saturday, Nov. 24 when the squad hosts UIC at 2 p.m. CT.
