The Marquette women's tennis team completed a perfect weekend in Texas and won its third consecutive match on Saturday with a 4-1 victory at Texas- San Antonio.
The Golden Eagles (8-7) struck early, claiming the doubles point with swift 6-1 and 6-0 victories from the doubles tandems of Paula Tormos Sanchez and Andrea Amortegui and Lesley Foe and Isabella Franks, respectively.
Fleur Eggink gave MU its second point with a smooth 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 3 singles position, while UTSA scored winning No. 2 doubles. Amortegui fought through to a 7-6 (8), 7-5 win at the No. 4 spot and Franks followed with the match-clinching win taking a 7-6 (1), 6-2 win on the No. 6 court.
The Golden Eagles return home and will host Creighton on Friday, April 6 at 6 p.m. CT at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
