Narrow Margin Separates All-Time Series
  Â
Marquette has claimed four of the last five outings with the Hoyas and now owns a slim 13-12 advantage in the all-time series. Â
  Â
All but two of the matchups have come since Marquette joined the BIG EAST in 2005-06.
  Â
The programs first met during the 1941-42 campaign and the Hoyas were able to claim a 35-34 victory. Â The next meeting didn't come until the 1971-72 season and Marquette posted a winning 88-44 decision. Â The series resumed in 2005-06 and the squads have met on 22 occasions since that year.Â
  Â
The Golden Eagles swept the home-and-home series in 2017-18, claiming a 74-65 win on Dec. 30, 2017 in the Bradley Center before rallying for a 90-86 overtime win at Capiltal One Arena on Feb. 26, 2018.
  Â
In the most recent matchup, both forward Sam Hauser and former guard Andrew Rowsey led the way with 28 points. Â The Golden Eagles led by as many as 10 points in the first half, before watching the Hoyas take a 12-point lead prior to halftime. Â
