Blockton Scores 2,000th as No. 10/9 Marquette Rolls Past Xavier, 90-44

Allazia Blockton became the first Marquette player, male or female, to reach 2,000 career points
CINCINNATI, Ohio – Allazia Blockton scored her 2,000th point as the No. 10/9 Marquette women's basketball team rolled past Xavier, 90-44, at the Cintas Center on Friday night.
The Golden Eagles (17-3, 8-0) jumped out to a 12-0 run to build insurance before finishing out the first frame with a 34-13 lead. Erika Davenport achieved double-digit status through just 13 minutes of action before finishing the game a rebound shy of her career-high 20.
At the 2:50 mark in the third quarter, Allazia Blockton caught a shuffle pass from Danielle King and completed the layup for her 2,000th career point. The Milwaukee native is the only Marquette basketball player, male or female, to reach the feat.
The Golden Eagles also held Xavier to 10 points in that third frame and just five points in the last quarter to finished out the game with a 46-point victory.
Five Marquette players reached double-digit scoring, led by Davenport and Natisha Hiedeman's 18 points apiece. Blockton finished with 15 points, Selena Lott added in 12 points and Danielle King chipped in 11 points.
Led by Davenport's 19 rebounds, Marquette controlled the team margin 60-26. The Golden Eagles also converted 16 of Xavier's turnovers to 25 points.
The Musketeers (10-9, 1-7) were led by Aaliyah Dunham with 16 points.
Next up, Marquette will travel to take on Butler, who sits second behind the Golden Eagles in the BIG EAST standings. Sunday's tip at Hinkle Fieldhouse is set for 1 p.m. CT.
