Natisha Hiedeman tallies 21 points, including season-high five 3-pointers
INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 10/9 Marquette women's basketball team extended its win streak to nine, tying the BIG EAST record for consecutive wins, as it cruised past Butler, 87-58, on Sunday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The Golden Eagles (18-3, 9-0) started out with a 10-2 run before Butler cut its deficit to three entering the second frame. In that second quarter, the Bulldogs tied things up at 29 with 2:47 to go, but Allazia Blockton's 10 points helped keep Marquette ahead, 36-31, heading into the half.
The third quarter was when Marquette created separation. Natisha Hiedeman made four of her season-high five triples in that frame, boosting Marquette to a 32-point lead at one point. The Golden Eagles went 9-for-14 from the floor and 6-for-8 from distance to amass a 30-point quarter.

Marquette was led by Hiedeman's 21 points in 30 minutes of action, while Blockton tallied 16 points. Erika Davenport collected nine rebounds while Danielle King dished out five assists.
The Golden Eagles shot 49 percent from the floor (26-of-53) and 48 percent from beyond the arc (11-for-23). MU also chalked up 20 fastbreak points to Butler's seven.
Butler (16-4, 6-3) was led by Kristen Spoylar with 21 points.
Marquette finishes out a three-game road swing at nearby Chicago on Sunday, Feb. 3, to take on the preseason co-favorite DePaul at 1 p.m. CT. The game airs live on BIG EAST Digital Network.
