Women's Tennis Wraps Doubles at ITA Regionals

Eggink and Novakovic will compete in the main singles draw

EAST LANSING, Mich.-- The Marquette University women's tennis team continued play at the ITA Regionals hosted by Michigan State on Friday afternoon with doubles action.

Each of MU's tandems won their opening match as Milica Novakovic and Isabella Franks defeated a duo from Toledo, 8-4, while Giulia Turconi and Lesley Foe toppled a pair from CSU, 8-3. Fleur Eggink and Natalija Popovic defeated host MSU, 8-4 to reach the second round. The focus will shift to single play on Saturday as each pairing dropped their second round match.

Earlier on Friday, Eggink won her third round of singles in the qualifying draw to advance to the main draw beginning Saturday morning. She will join Novakovic with play beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
