MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's lacrosse team will play its lone fall exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 26 in High Point, North Carolina against High Point University at Vert Stadium.
The Golden Eagles are led into action by first-year head coach Andrew Stimmel and return four of 10 starters from a 2019 squad that went 6-8. Starting goalie John Hulsman returns in net for MU, as do midfielders Connor McClelland, Peter Henkhaus and Luke Anderson and attackmen Ryan Fazio and Griffin Fleming.
In addition to losing leading scorers John Wagner and Tanner Thomson, MU also must replace three defensive starters plus 2019 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Noah Richard.
Head coach Jon Torpey's High Point Panthers are led by junior All-American attackman Asher Nolting, who set a single-season record for points in the Southern Conference in 2019 with 92 points on 44 goals and 48 assists. HUP must replace goalie Tim Troutner Jr., who earned USILA Second Team All-America honors before being recognized as the Premier Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Year after a standout first season with the Redwoods LC in the PLL.
MU and High Point last met in February of 2017 in a scrimmage in Milwaukee and Marquette was last at High Point prior to the 2016 campaign.
The Golden Eagles begin exhibition action during the spring semester at Ohio State on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 in Columbus, Ohio.
