Four Golden Eagles reached double figures
MILWAUKEE — Four Golden Eagles scored in double figures as the Marquette University men's basketball team defeated Grambling State, 93-72, on Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum.

Senior guard Markus Howard hit six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 26 points. It's the 21st time in his career he's hit six-or-more threes in a game and the 52nd time in his career he's reached the 20-point mark.

Sacar Anim added 18 points while Jamal Cain chipped in 11 to go along with a career-high five assists. Koby McEwen was the fourth Golden Eagle to reach double figures (10 points) and dished out a season-best seven assists, which was also a game-high.

With 5:45 remaining in the first half and the two teams tied at 23, Anim hit a 3-pointer from the left corner, sparking a 19-4 run to close the half.

MU went on a 9-3 run to begin the second half and led by as many as 23 points. The team shot an exceptional 57.4 percent (16 of 28) from the field and hit nine-of-18 3-point tries in the final 20 minutes on the way to a 21-point victory. Its 16 made 3-pointers on the night marks the fifth time this season the team made 10 or more shots from long distance.

The Golden Eagles assisted on 12 of their 13 first half field goals and 27-of-29 overall. Their 27 assists are a season-high and the best team assist total since their last meeting with Grambling State on Dec. 2, 2015.

Kelton Edwards led GSU with 22 points while Ivy Smith Jr. chipped in 14 points and a team-high five assists.
