The Golden Eagles begin BIG EAST Conference action on Jan. 1 at Creighton
MILWAUKEE - Marquette closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a dominating 106-54 victory over Central Arkansas at Fiserv Forum on Saturday afternoon.
Markus Howard scored a game-high 30 points while adding five assists in relatively few second half minutes. Theo John posted a season-best 12 points, while the Golden Eagles (10-2) recieved 11 points apiece from Ed Morrow and Sacar Anim.
MU's 52-point margin of victory over Central Arkansas (3-10) is the sixth-largest in program history and the most since a 53-point win over Chicago State on Nov. 18, 2001.
Marquette led by 33 points at the half and stretched its lead to as many as 53 points midway through the second half.
The Golden Eagles return to action at 8 p.m. Central time on New Year's Day in their BIG EAST Conference lid-lifter at Creighton.
