Meyers clinches team victory, MU has won 15-straight at home
The Marquette University men's tennis team (5-4) wrapped up its two-match weekend homestand with a 6-1 victory Sunday afternoon over Chicago State at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles, who are now 4-0 at home this season, have claimed 15-straight on campus dating back to the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
Chicago State opened the match by claiming the doubles point, as Marquette debuted some new lineup combinations to conclude a three-match week.
MU was able to quickly claim momentum in singles, however, earning first sets at each of the six positions. Junior Alexander Warstler made quick work of his opponent and was the first off the court, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 in his dual debut this season.
Junior Brett Meyers clinched the team victory with a straight-set win of his own at No. 3.
